چکیده

Despite the tremendous advancement in somatic cell nuclear transfer (SCNT) camels, generation of cloned calf using SCNT cows is yet to be reported United Arab Emirates (UAE). The present study intended produce calves local environment UAE. We surgically collected ear tissue from two high-performance Holstein (average production 71 liter/ day) and established fibroblast line perform SCNT. Fifty- seven (18.48%) blastocysts were derived 330 fused oocytes for donor A, 51 (19.14%) generated 289 B. used 102 recipients embryo transfer; among those, 53 49 received embryos reconstructed with A B, respectively. single blastocyst media was transferred deep into horn uterus natural cycling recipient by trans cervical method on Day 7; where estrus considered as 0. Non-return (up 42 days), early pregnancy, live birth rate did not differ significantly cells. Four (26.67%) 1 (7.69%) produced Microsatellite analysis 18 bovine-specific loci confirmed perfect match donors calves. This first case Our results could benefit UAE dairy industry supporting locally high- performance replacement heifers. Keywords: Bovine; Cloning; In vitro maturation; Oocytes;

I-12: Nuclear Reprogramming in Bovin Somatic Cell Nuclear Transfer

Somatic cell nuclear transfer (SCNT or cloning) returns a differentiated cell to a totipotent status; a process termed nuclear reprogramming. Reproductive cloning has potential applications in both agriculture and biomedicine, but is limited by low efficiency. To understand the deficiencies of nuclear reprogramming, our research has focused on both candidate genes and global gene expression pat...

A Unique Demographic Structure The United Arab Emirates (UAE) lies on the Arabian Gulf between Oman and Saudi Arabia. It consists of a union of seven Emirates, namely: Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Ra's Al-Khaymah, Al-Fujayrah, and Umm Al-Qaywayn (Fig. 11). The UAE has a cosmopolitan population of 3.7 million (estimates 2003) and exhibits a unique demographic structure as UAE nationals only...

Cloned calves derived from somatic cell nuclear transfer embryos cultured in chemically defined medium or modified synthetic oviduct fluid

Somatic cell nuclear transfer (SCNT) is considered to be a critical tool for propagating valuable animals. To determine the productivity calves resulting from embryos derived with different culture media, enucleated oocytes matured in vitro were reconstructed with fetal fibroblasts, fused, and activated. The cloned embryos were cultured in modified synthetic oviduct fluid (mSOF) or a chemically...

P-86: Production of Cloned Mice by Somaticm Cell Nuclear Transfer

Background: For several years, mammalian cloning by splitting an early embryo or nuclear transfer into oocytes method has been successfully performed. Cloning is now also possible using adult somatic cells. Although it has now been 15 years since the first cloned mammals were generated from somatic cells using nuclear transfer (NT), the success rate for producing live offspring by cloning is lo...

Production efficiency and telomere length of the cloned pigs following serial somatic cell nuclear transfer.

The aim of the present study was to examine the production efficiency of cloned pigs by serial somatic cell nuclear transfer (SCNT) and to ascertain any changes in the telomere lengths of multiple generations of pigs. Using fetal fibroblasts as the starting nuclear donor cells, porcine salivary gland progenitor cells were collected from the resultant first-generation cloned pigs to successively...
